updated q tag

The latest version of GyroQ (1.9.4.9) leads to a glitch with the older version of the MindReader “q” tag that causes MindReader to mark up the centraltopic of the destination map instead of the new topic. To address this, just paste the packed text of the new q tag into the GyroQ dialog box. This version should be slightly faster than the old version as well.

I tried this solution to a problem I didn’t know I had, and it seemed to create the problem it reports to fix. Instead of adding an action item to the daily capture map, it makes a new map with central topic matching the name of the action item. Then an error comes up — “The sequence {pin:5055;send’run’queue:\\…My Maps\GyroQ\GyroActivator-Queue.txt} returned an error: Message from MindManager 6: A runtime error occured while exucuting the macro \\…My Maps\GyroActivator-macro.MMBas.”
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    David

Sorry about that David — I’m not sure what is going on. I didn’t test it under v6 so there could be a problem there.

The first step you describe is what is suppose to happen. GyroQ communicates into MindReader by creating a temporary map with the action item in the central topic.

Have you upgraded to the more recent copies of “MindReaderOpen.mmbas” and “MindReaderNLP.mmbas”? If they are very old that might cause a problem.

Can you do the following to help me narrow down what is happening:

With the temporary “action item” map on the screen, open the “My Maps”GyroActivator-macro.mmbas” mentioned in the error message inside the macro editor (“Tools”, “Macros”, “Macro Editor”) and hit the play button. It should give a more descriptive error message as to exactly what is happening.

    Hi AO,
I’m afraid I’m trying to operate way above my skill level here. Here’s what I’ve done.
    1. Upgraded to MM7 Pro, which I like.
    2. Recreated the error with Tag q. — got the same error msg, but now it’s a msg from MM7, not 6.
    3. Opened macro editor and saw
    ‘ Created by GyroActivator 1.5.1 11/16/2007
    Sub Main()
    Call MacroRun(GetPath(mmDirectoryMyMaps)&”mindreaderopen.mmbas”,””)
    Call MacroRun(GetPath(mmDirectoryMyMaps)&”mindreaderNLP.mmbas”,””)
    End Sub
Hit play button, but no error msg occurred.

I’m telling you this b/c I feel I owe it to you given your thoughtful and empathetic response to my previous inquiry. On the other hand, I’m happy to build up my level of familiarity with the whole system a bit before I take another stab at using this tag — which in and of itself is probably not a key priority.

    Thanks for your help.

That’s odd. I’ve never seen the 1st error message not be duplicated when running from within the editor.

Did it go ahead and process the text in the central topic of the temporary map?

Can you try using the “fq” tag and see if that works? Also try “o mapmap” or “o test” to see what happens.
