Feed your to-do list into MindReader
Up until now MindReader has processed individual tasks entered at the GyroQ prompt. Mal mentioned on the GTD-mindmanager yahoo group that it would be useful to have a drag and drop capability to pull in tasks he was accumulating in his Palm PDA.
In order to address this need, the MindReader “q” command has been modified so that it can handle a list of tasks pasted into the GyroQ dialog box. Each line is processed separately and placed into the appropriate destination map based on its keywords.
This can be used to pull in a list of tasks from sources like email messages, Excel, word, etc. If you already have MindReader installed, you can add this functionality by downloading an updated copy of MindReaderOpen.mmbas.

Note that this functionality only works with the “q” command. The “fq” command can’t handle the multiline entries for the same reasons it doesn’t like double quotes.

I got this request by email today and figured I’d post the reply here for info:
“If I have done a brainstorm in MM and created a map of actions, I’d like to mindread them all at once AND send them to their respective maps from the brainstorm map. It seems that the ‘c’ tag could be modified to convert the branches to actions, which it already does, and send them to their associated maps according to keywords in their respective maps. ”
SOLUTION:
* Enter your tasks in a brainstorm map
* Select them all,
* Then hit Ctrl-x, Ctrl-q, q, Ctrl-v,
The above does…
Control X – cut them onto the clipboard
Control Q – pull up GryoQ
q – pull up “q” tag
Control V – Paste in tasks as a list
– feed them into mindreader
A dedicated tag would eliminate the control-x/control-v and enable transfer than more than just topic text (e.g. notes, links, etc), but perhaps this is enough to get you started.

[…] If you capture the tasks in a note, you can paste the list into the MindReader GyroQ "q" tag, and it will process and parse each line separately into separate tasks. You don't need to paste them 1 by 1. See Feed your todo list into MindReader. […]
